a knitted facimile

This guy turned up at our inner city meeting of the NSW Knitters Guild a few months back with an old hat he had bought in europe – cant remember if it was spain or greece now.  Anyway he wanted another 2 the same.

Somehow I was volunteered to make them.

Which at the time was ok cause I was about to be unemployed for a while.  But as is so that was not meant to be and 3 months later I have just posted the hats to him.

It was hard to get the gauge and ply right but once I had done that it was quite easy to knit each of them up – a many few hours in the airport helps.

The original was very well loved I hope the new ones are as well

Knitted cotton hat

Pattern: I put it on the knitting photocopier…..

Yarn: Lana Gatto Jaipur – one in blue one in black

Needles: 3mm bamboo circular and 3mm knitpicks

Time on needles: quite some time
