a leave of absence

But no leave from knitting

I have not one, two but 3 finished items to show you today

First is Pomme de Pin which after hearing that Pru had finished hers I thought I would pull out all stops and just get it done.  Two weeks after that thougth voila here it is.  Sadly though after a week or two of constant wear the alpaca sport is felting under the sleeves.  The gorgeous buttons are curtisy from the costume designer on the new job and a recent buying trip she did to N.Z.

Second  cab off the rank is yes another cardigan and this one took 1 year to the day to complete, and a rotten migraine this last week.  I did get up and to work by 6.15am but had to turn around 1/2 hour later to retreat to a dark room for most of the day.  There may of been a smidgen of knitting towards the end of the day which pushed this item off the needles and onto the blocking mat.  Larch had been my set in sleeve nemisis until Pomme de Pin above took away the sewen in sleeve fear.  And as you may remember the many attempts to knit the sleeves top down which really did beat me – it turns out the arm hole was just way too long and after 4 attempts I just really wanted to finish the cardigan.  The whole thing dropped about 1-2inches after blocking which was great in the body but the sleeves may be a bit too long for my liking now.  I love the colour and think this will get heaps of wear.

Finally another pair of socks for the darling sock victim plain simple and well loved already.

So what do I knit next?  I am trying to work my way through my pile of started projects but I am aching to start something new again – not sure what though…..

As usual, I have severe cardigan envy. There must be sock affection in the air – I’ve been making good progress on my latest Nancys that had stalled for some time.

I would be wearing either of those cardis so much! They look amazing, and warm, and I am deeply envious.

You finished Larch! Yay! I have to get me a cardigan’s worth of Tosh in Tart!

Larch looks amazing: beautiful yarn, beautiful colour and beautifully knitting. And Pomme de Pin is gorgeous too. I once again bow down to you, for you are indeed the Cardigan Queen!

both cardigans are beautiful, it’s a shame about the felting on the alpaca one though. Hopefully it’s not too noticeable?

I like the buttons on your Pomme, and the crocheted necklace you’ve teamed with your Larch, too! (is that the hand of Ms RoseRed in the necklace??)
